The Elegant Music Quintet is a unique sounding ensemble. Each instrument has unique qualities that contribute to the sonority (variety of sound) and versatility of this ensemble. Together these instruments provide a colorful palette inviting exploration by the composer, musician and listener. The adage coined by Greek philosopher Aristotle “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” is certainly true of this ensemble.
Instrumentation: Flute, Violin Cello, Piano and Harp.
During this Christmas Eve service the ensemble will perform without amplification to take advantage of the excellent acoustics offered by the Faith Lutheran sanctuary.

In 2020 to comply with health guidelines the Elegant Music Quartet performed out doors on the front lawn of Faith Lutheran.

Music was an important part of this wedding ceremony. I had a lot of fun working with the mother of the bride planning music. She and her daughter made very creative music choices allowing me the opportunity to write new arrangements for the Elegant Music Quintet.
The Elegant Music Quintet organically evolved from Flute and Piano (Duo) to include Violin and Cello which created the Elegant Music Quartet.
Then, Harp was added to the ensemble which created a quintet (a five instrument ensemble). The combinations of these instruments produce an expansive variety of music textures and sound.
From receiving requests the Elegant Music Quintet performs an ever growing repertoire of popular and contemporary music covers, motion picture themes and traditional classical music.
4:30 – 5:00 PM Prelude Music on the front lawn of the Bel-Air Bay Club.
“Happy, light, festive Hawaiian music” described the atmosphere requested as guests arrived.

Elegant Music started with Sheila and Eric Zimmermann performing Flute and Piano music for weddings.
At the request of listeners Violin and Cello was added to create a Quartet.
Throughout the years have been writing music arrangements for this ensemble at the request of Brides and their families planning music. As a result this ensemble has a large repertoire.
Harp was added to this quartet to create the Elegant Music Quintet.
