Elopement Wedding
While setting up for a wedding at the Shakespeare club I was told by Janet Beggs (past President of the Club) of a couple who “wanted to get married right now.”
The Bride is a fine artist and color expert. She and Janet work together staging historic homes for realtors.
The Groom had been a military man and served this country overseas for 2 tours.

Plans are still going forward to have the wedding at the Shakespeare Club in April 2026 in this very room.
But the groom wanted to make it official as soon a possible. His reason for “getting married right now”, he wanted to make sure that his wife would be taken care of if anything were to happen to him at work.
That groom is now a Police Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department.
Definition of “Extraordinary”
adjective. Beyond what is ordinary or usual; highly unusual or exceptional or remarkable.

Definition of “Responsibility”
-
- Root: Respondere (Latin) – “to pledge, to promise in return, to answer back”.
- Initially, it meant being able to answer for something.
- Reliability and trustworthiness (1690s).

The story goes Patricia walked into a police station; Jorge saw her first. Janet describes that they are very much in love; that Jorge would do anything for her.
During the ceremony the officiant asked for comment from the families “Just take care of her” was the statement or maybe it was an order. Either way this Military Man now a LAPD Officer has this purpose and is qualified to do just that.
After the ceremony Patricia and Jorge wanting to thank the bride went upstairs to the bride’s room where todays bride was getting ready. Janet describes their encounter as “they had their moment” :-)
Thank you to extraordinary individuals among us every day…
who take responsibility for the ones they love and for those they haven’t met.
Sincerely, Eric Zimmermann
