July Celebration 2025 continues.

People need people.
Together people have a positive influence on their environment.
The truth is “we are better together.”
Reach out to your neighbor and say, “Hello.”
You will brighten their day.
And your day will be brightened too.
It’s that simple.
The Elegant Music June 2020 Celebration “Concert on the Front Lawn” was held right in the middle of the “Stay At Home” orders. At the time we didn’t know if anyone would come out to enjoy the music. Well, they did come out. It was a big success. It was commented: “Thank you. This is what we needed.” Please click on the post and watch the video.
A Good Idea
Weeks after the June 2020 Celebration we were invited to perform another outdoor concert; this time at Faith Lutheran Church. Sheila and I enjoy performing in the beautifully reverberous sanctuary of Faith Lutheran during Sunday Services.
But again, protocol forbade gathering inside the sanctuary; so we held the concert outdoors.
This performance was also very well received. Please see 2 Videos in this post: A Neighborhood Gathering with Elegant Music & Friends.
Summer 1983 New York City
Around noon I brought a big blanket to stakeout space for a number of friends meeting after work to attend a concert of the NY Philharmonic in Central Park. There were people already there on blankets sunning themselves, having lunch, throwing frisbees. The party had been well underway before I got there…
Simple Concepts:
“People. People who need people…” Barbara Streisand
“Yeah, it’s always better when we’re together.” Jack Johnson
“Build it and they will come” from the motion picture “Field Of Dreams.”
These events have been called:
“Concert on the front lawn.”
“A Popup Pops Concert.”
A Neighborhood Musical Gathering.
“Hollywood Bowl Style Concert” without the Traffic
A House Party
A Block Party
Back Yard Soiree
Cul-de-sac Concerts
The correct spelling is cul-de-sac. It is a French term meaning “bottom of the bag” or “dead end”. It is typically used to describe a street with only one way in and out.
IDEA: Get the residents on board to have a Cul-de-sac Concert. Block off the street of the cul-de-sac to through traffic. Each household in the cul-de-sac could invite “their guests” to dine on their front lawn or on their driveway. Imagine there are parties on the front lawns of each home. Let’s say that there are about 10 homes on the cul-de-sac. Each household lining the cul-de-sac could donate a small amount of money (in a pool) to pay for the Orchestra / Quartet / Band / Soloists.

Whether a formal Wine Dinner on your front lawn with candelabras or something as casual as a Potluck or Barbecue, people will be interested…
They will want to participate and be a part of this very creative activity…
And they will want to contribute to the event…
And fun will be had by all.
Casino Night – Speakeasy Jazz
Barbecue – Fish Fry – Clam Bake – Christmas In May
Planning Music for an event is just as much fun as performing for that event.
Sheila and I have been planning and performing music for successful events for over 30 years. We have a lot of fun doing what we do :-)
Sincerely, Eric Zimmermann
