Creative Wedding Ceremony Music Choices
Andrew and Betsy understood that music could shape the design and overall presentation of their wedding. Their music choices were very creative. Betsy had the idea that she wanted to walk down the aisle to Van Morrison’s “Brown Eyed Girl”. Now, I already have written an arrangement for the Elegant Music Quartet of this song that follows the original, but when Betsy played the melody of “Brown Eyed Girl” on my piano it was much more whimsical; I had never heard it interpreted in that way and it changed the way I thought about the song. The arrangement then seemed to write it self. The new version is a beautiful waltz certainly appropriate for a wedding processional and even a Father Daughter dance or First Dance. I didn’t get the chance to record our quartet performing this new arrangement on Betsy’s wedding day but this past weekend while playing a party at a beautiful home up the hill from the Sherwood Country Club, I did.
