Live Music – DJ Dance Music – Professional Announcing
Note: Music is a very personal art form. I am happy to speak with the brides and clients you are working with to help them pick the right music for their event. Each event is unique. It’s quite an adventure to talk about music with a couple; one great leads to another! Sincerely, Eric Zimmermann DJ/Master of Ceremonies, Pianist and Bandleader (Cell: 323-270-3650)
RE: Choosing live music for a wedding ceremony.
Choosing music can be guided by:
- …the songs chosen…
- …and the instrumentation desired.
See: Mini Concert – Choosing Wedding Ceremony Music
Each instrument has unique qualities. Sometimes music has to be written out for the ensemble to play. Working with brides since 1990 I have written many quartet arrangements. As a result the Elegant Music Quartet plays a large repertoire of traditional and popular contemporary music.
See: Alternative Music for Quartet (video and song list).
Itinerary SKETCH as a planning tool.
Music starts an event and continues throughout the event. A well written itinerary assists many aspects of planning an event.
- An itinerary SKETCH helps the client see where music and announcing will be needed.
- And… helps to define the scope of music service. (What the client is paying for.)
- An itinerary sketch helps the client “see the event” and look at areas they might not have thought of.
- An event that is organized easily flows from one activity to the next.
- An itinerary SKETCH demonstrates my understanding of the client’s. We work on it together until it is correct and that we both understand what will be need for a successful event.
- The client can have full control over what the Master of Ceremonies will say. Scripted announcements are included in the itinerary SKETCH.
- An itinerary SKETCH helps to align the services of all of the vendors the client will be hiring. Once complete the client can give copies to their vendors (and go over it with them) ensuring all vendors and services are in agreement.
- Stress is reduced. The client having certainty about their event has peace of mind and can make decisions more easily.

DJ Dance Floor Surround Sound
Most DJs provide a 2 speaker setup. This is okay for parties of 80 guests or less. Dance Floor Surround Sound is a four speaker setup. Speakers are placed on each corner of the dance floor facing inward toward dancers away from seated guests. Dancers can dance and seated guests can talk.
