Pairing
The culinary subject of wine and food pairing is very interesting. From my understanding it is basically, “w
hat wine would compliment a particular course and add to the overall enjoyment of the meal?” It certainly isn’t a science but more an art form.
A host, preparing a seating chart for a dinner party may consider seating guests by their similar interests. Here too with a little thought given to pairing guests and their interests, new friends are made and a successful party is achieved; again this is more of an art than a science.
Composer

Wedding and Special Event Designers are artists who compose special events. There are many parts to a special event requiring several vendors who are specialists in their field.
Most special event vendors (themselves artists) have a unique viewpoint from which they practice their craft and put beauty into the world; these work together and contribute to the over all “composition” the special event.
Wedding Designer
Over the years an experienced designer collects vendors they know and have worked with. They are familiar with their work, their artistic style and their reliability. They know what each of their vendors do best.
The designer working with their client exchanging ideas, gets to know the client. It is a learning process for the designer to find out what their client likes. Understanding their clients vision and determining the logistical requirements of the event they can then suggest vendors and services that forward their clients vision.
So the experienced event designer “pairs vendors” with clients for the best result; they call this “a good fit.”
