6:30 – 7:00 Cocktail Hour – Solo Piano
7:00 Ballroom doors open…
Cocktail Hour continues (for the rest of the hour.)
Pianist joins Guitarist/Vocalist and Drummer/Vocalist. (light ballroom dance music)
7:30 Dinner bells are rung.
Guests entering the ballroom take a turn on the dance floor and are seated for their first course.
Guests dance until main course is served.
8:00 Main Course served.
No music during dinner.
8:30 Dancing resumes.

This occasion, a 50th birthday celebration complete with great food, cigars, gaming tables and yes, a sing-along.
With microphone in one hand and cell phone in the other, guests find song lyrics on line and at the top of their lungs erupt in passionate chorus and cheer each other on.

Sourdough Bread Baking Party
There is something wholesome and old-world about Sourdough bread. I love to cook. But until this past Saturday, I had never baked bread.
This event was a fundraiser for the Fair Oaks Academy in Altadena (where my son and daughter had gone to school) a Sourdough bread baking class at “Penny Oven” Restaurant on Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock.

2131 Colorado Blvd, Eagle Rock, CA 90041
Owner Michelle Wilton guided us through each step to making our first loaf.
We learned:
- the proportions,
- time and temperatures;
- weighed and mixed the ingredients.
A wonderful dinner was provided.
We learned a lot and had a lot of fun.
Great Party Idea!
And the thought occurred to me, a Sourdough bread baking class is a great party idea!
“Penny Oven” Restaurant is fully equipped for this activity.
What made this special was that we were taught well and were proud of our creations.
Now, I can confidently say I can bake Sourdough Bread :-)
