Motion Pictures and Weddings

A motion picture is a composition utilizing many art forms such as story line, costume design, cinematography. These, are aesthetically arranged to create an emotional effect to entertain and inspire the viewer.

Unlike a motion picture which requires several takes of scenes and extensive editing…

your wedding will occur in “one take.”

 So, planning and having one’s “ducks in a row” is important.

 

Creating an itinerary sketch in the early stages of wedding planning helps in many ways. 

Even if you haven’t chosen a wedding date, it would be very productive to talk about your ideas for your wedding and to write those ideas down. 

You will be amazed at how effective this simple organizing action can be.

The Elegant Music Quintet is a unique sounding ensemble. Each instrument has unique qualities that contribute to the sonority (variety of sound) and versatility of this ensemble. Together these instruments provide a colorful palette inviting exploration by the composer, musician and listener. The adage coined by Greek philosopher Aristotle “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” is certainly true of this ensemble. 

Instrumentation: Flute, Violin Cello, Piano and Harp.

During this Christmas Eve service the ensemble will perform without amplification to take advantage of the excellent acoustics offered by the Faith Lutheran sanctuary.

What is a Classic?

What is Elegant?

“Elegant” means of a high grade or quality.

Derivation: from Latin eligere – to elect, select or to choose. 
(Websters online dictionary)

So, Elegant Music is “chosen music”

It was very evident that Heidi and Paul made great choices and enjoyed planning their wedding.

The Queen Mary is a classic location with a storied history.

Traditionally right after a wedding ceremony guests enjoy refreshments while the bridal party takes pictures. Anticipating that she and Paul would be busy Heidi asked that I record the cocktail hour for her. 

Wedding Reception – Royal Salon

After playing solo piano during the cocktail hour I conducted the evenings festivities as Paul and Heidi’s Master of Ceremonies.

Then as their DJ, I played dance music.

Everyone danced.

And danced!

And danced some more :-)

Hello: My name is Eric Zimmermann.

In addition to being a DJ and Master of Ceremonies for weddings and events

I am also a pianist and band leader.

I lead a number of ensembles in performances in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.

As a pianist I have Holiday Sing-along books

to help your guests get away from their phones for just a moment

and join in the festivities. A sing-along always brings people together..

 

Fast Away The Old Year Passes…

I am sure you have noticed there is a lot to do before this “old year passes”

and you may feel like you could use a little help.

Well, I won’t help you put up Christmas lights

but I can provide entertainment for your upcoming celebration :-)

Hail the New, Ye Lads and Lasses…

 

 

On Monday January 1st 2024 the Elegant Music Jazz Trio

will perform the first gig of the new year,

bright and early near the corner of Colorado Blvd and Lake Street

at the epicenter of the Rose Parade in Pasadena.

The First Party of the New Year

Televised, the Rose Parade spreads joy and celebration across the globe;

but why stop there.

I hear that 2024 offers 366 opportunities to celebrate.

That’s right 2024 is a leap year!
