Hello: My name is Eric Zimmermann.

In addition to being a DJ and Master of Ceremonies for weddings and events

I am also a pianist and band leader.

I lead a number of ensembles in performances in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.

As a pianist I have Holiday Sing-along books

to help your guests get away from their phones for just a moment

and join in the festivities. A sing-along always brings people together..

 

Fast Away The Old Year Passes…

I am sure you have noticed there is a lot to do before this “old year passes”

and you may feel like you could use a little help.

Well, I won’t help you put up Christmas lights

but I can provide entertainment for your upcoming celebration :-)

On Monday January 1st 2024 the Elegant Music Jazz Trio

will perform the first gig of the new year,

bright and early near the corner of Colorado Blvd and Lake Street

at the epicenter of the Rose Parade in Pasadena.

The First Party of the New Year

Televised, the Rose Parade spreads joy and celebration across the globe;

but why stop there.

I hear that 2024 offers 366 opportunities to celebrate.

That’s right 2024 is a leap year!

Playing Christmas parties is always a lot of fun. I love it when I receive requests and all of a sudden guests start  singing-along. Very often at a company party I am asked to accompany skits and performances by the employees. You thought lawyers could be so talented and entertaining :-)

Christmas brings out the best in people.

Speaking of “The Law” I recall driving a little too fast in the afternoon one Christmas Day and being stoped by a policeman.

He looked at my license and asked me if “Rudolph was a male or female reindeer?”

He implied that if I answered correctly that he would not give me a ticket for speeding.

Rudolph is a male name so I said that “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” was male.

He said that my answer was incorrect. Then with a twinkle in his eye he said, “Male reindeer lose their antlers in the fall and that Female reindeer keep their antlers until the spring.”

When I googled this I saw that in all pictures of Rudolph, “she” had antlers:

“Both sexes finish growing their antlers at the same time but shed them at different times of the year. Typically, males drop their antlers in the late fall, leaving them without antlers until the following spring, while females keep their antlers through the winter until their calves are born in the spring.”

The Policeman had been moved by the Christmas spirit and was enjoying talking to motorists and had become a bit of a comedian :-)  I didn’t get a ticket.
