Choosing Music; A Creative Process.
A simple itinerary sketch shows the parts of the event.
Each part of an event can have its own music.
When planning music we discuss:
- Style of music you like,
- Favorite recording artists,
- Songs you like,
- Instruments you like.
Putting it all together is a lot of fun. I look forward to talking about music with you and hearing your ideas.
Sincerely, Eric Zimmermann

The Story of Elegant Music

Elegant Music started with Sheila and I playing Flute and Piano Music together when we were first married.
At the request of listeners we added violin and cello to the flute and piano to create the Elegant Music Quartet.
I got busy writing arrangements (covers) of popular music for this ensemble. The result, the Elegant Music Quartet performs a large repertoire of Classic and Contemporary music.

Quartet with Piano

The instrumentation of the original Elegant Music Quartet is Flute, Violin, Cello and Piano. We call this the “Piano Quartet”.
Quartets with Harp
Sheila and I discovered that by replacing the “Piano” with “Harp”, a whole new ensemble is created. Flute, Violin, Cello and Harp. We call this the “Harp Quartet”.
The Harp Quartet is a beautiful looking and sounding ensemble that can play the same exciting repertoire as the original Elegant Music Piano Quartet.

Good Questions:
- How will my wedding be?
- What can a bridal couple do to make wedding planning easier?
- What should a bridal couple do before they shop for vendors?
- What is the easiest way to get a quote from a vendor?
- What vital piece of information would all of your vendors need to have on the day of your wedding?

The derivation of the word “Elegant” comes from Latin, “eligeri” “to elect” “select” “to choose”
So, Elegant Music is “chosen music”.
Choice of Music is Personal
The part of helping a couple plan music for their event that I enjoy the most is talking with them about music they like.
Sometimes I will write arrangements of the songs they have chosen to be performed by the ensemble they have chosen.
The result, is a “live performance” of their favorite songs. Writing quartet arrangements of their special requests helps to personalize their wedding. A couple chooses their location, their flowers, food, their guests; it’s a reflection of them. Each part of their wedding can have its own music. Helping them to put it all together is a lot of fun.

Greg and Michelle made excellent choices for their wedding. They put together a great team of vendors.
Rabbi Cantor Alison Wissot conducted the wedding ceremony with a warm and friendly demeanor and she can really sing. Usually, in a Jewish Wedding Ceremony the Groom breaks one glass at the end. In the video Alison explained why the couple broke two glasses.
This wedding was planned, beautifully designed and coordinated by Kimery Sherwood. In addition to her many duties Kimery took care that the bridal party and bride’s processional were timed perfectly!
Congratulations Greg and Michelle! Thank you for bringing us all together :-)
